I've been trying to make TVEngine + MP with client plugin work for a couple days now. I just tried updating again to the latests builds but i still can't see any picture or hear any sound.

When i configured TVEngine, it scanned my DVB-T and found the four channels available in my area, it also found a couple analog channel which is fine (reception is really bad here). I previewed them in the TVServer setup and they all looked great and had sound - so i figured it was ready to go. I then removed one of the DVB-T channels and most the analog ones, leaving just 3 DVB-T and one analog.

Now i had MP 0.2.3.0 installed already which didn't work (it wouldn't find my tv tuner) but the MP 0.2.2.0 had previously worked and it was keeping the settings from there (4 DVB-T channels and 1 analog channel). I removed my card from MP but once i was unable to remove the actual channels.

In MP setup i see no tuner cards (which is fine i guess - it should use data frmo the server) but it still thinks it has the old 5 channels stored (from 0.2.2.0 days). When i run MP the EPG is updated from the server it seems (3 DVB-T channels) and i can select the stream from the server. The 'TV On/Off' is greyed out and there is no picture and no sound. I just can't make it work.

I tried using VLC to view if the Server was streaming anything but i'm not sure if i'm trying the right protocol/url. I tried the following with no success: 'rtsp://192.168.1.103' and 'rtsp://192.168.1.103/stream1.0' - the IP should be correct (i'm running both apps on the same machine with this IP). I found the urls in the logfiles previously...

I can't help thinking it's either the Server not streaming like it should or MP locks itself up because it thinks it can use the tuner card (it has the channels saved) while the server also thinks it can use it?

Did you install the client plug-in?, its comes in a nice setup file with the tvserver.
also if you do want to try the vlc thing again, use 127.0.0.1 for the ip, this ip is a special one that means "this computer"

client plugin

I actually did trythe localhost ip but i just forgot to put it there as well - but thanks for the tip. Is that supposed to work btw? If so it seems the server is not streaming like it should?
About the clientplugin i ran it but i never saw a setup - it just installed and that was it. Am i supposed to configure the plugin somewhere?

woop

Upgraded to newest build of TVEngine and MP. Removed MP entirely - reinstalled 0.2.3.0 and applied the latest patch. Installed the Plugin. My previous channels (from the old 0.2.2.0 were finally gone). I fired up the TVEngine and used VLC again - checked the streaming.server.log for the path - entered it in VLC and voila!

After some tinkering, setup TVEngine and MP and rebooting i finally got it to work inside MP as well!
