    Hello,

nearly exact the same probs here using single-seat (SVN 14265) on Win XP SP2:
    1. Start a recording mannualy on first card - Ok.
    2. Change to a channel on same MUX - Ok.
    3. Change to a channel on another MUX (second card) - NOT OK "Unable to start timeshift Unknown error occured" (press Ok)

Using two Floppy DTVC on KabelBW (Germany).

No one else running more than one TV-card noticed this problem? If not could it be just a problem with floppy driver??

    Sorry tompa,

    What's slover?

Changing channel is slover if it is on the same MUX. Earlier it was 2-3 sec, now its 5-7 sec. Its the same as if server switch TV-card (5-7 sec).

edit: MUX is the same as "transponder". (Number of channels on the same frequency. )

    You are doing something wrong?!
My channel-switching durations (with last SVNs - self-compiled):

    on same transponder: ~1 second
    on other transponder: 2-3 seconds
    on other tvcard: 5-7 seconds

    Hardware: 2x FireDTV C/CI, 1x Terratec Cinergy 1200 DVB-T

    tompa,

I've just tested reverting to 501 and reapplying 521. Channel change speed did not change for me on multi-seat (~4 secs). Single-seat should be faster.

Please post your findings. Anyone else having channel change speed issues after build 14501?

tompa ; It would also be a good idea if you can monitor the card/timeshift activity on the setupTV application on the server while you change channel on your networked client(s).

Do this by using w monitors like me :) (dualview).
primary monitor is showing MP fullscreened.
secondary monitor is showing a remote desktop or VNC screen of the setupTV application.

If you have one monitor only, then hit alt-enter to have MP in windowed mode.
This should leave you with enough space to monitor the server.

Take a good look on what happens on the server when u change channel on the same mux.
Does it stop the timeshifting only to start it on the new channel again ?
How long does it take for the server to acknowledge the channelchange.
From the point on where you change it on the client until you can actually see it being reported as timeshifted on the server.

Otherwise please supply the client/server logs for a clean scenario where you change from channel a to channel b on the same mux and then exit MP.

The costly channel changes should only occur when going from one device to another, as far as I know.
In this case the dshow graph is being stopped and rebuilt.

joboehl : maybe we could do some additional logging in the new code. I was thinking about where we examine wether or not a new DVB device is needed and the following call to gplayer.stop() before doing the timeshifting on the new DVB device.
