Problem finding a movie which is in IMDB (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I have a file called "The Silver Chair (1990).avi", and there is a movie in IMDB with exactly that name (barring the .avi of course!)

"The Silver Chair" (1990)

And yet MovingPictures does not give it as one of the possible matches. I do have it set to retrieve data from IMDB.

I don't suppose anyone would be able to look into this? If it can't find this one, could there be a problem which would also prevent it finding others?

Try a custom search string without the year.
In the importer tab, click the green "refresh" arrow. Enter the movie title (or just delete the year addition)
As an alternative, you can enter the imdb id.

Thanks for the response.

I have already tried the custom search string with and without the year, and also refreshing the data. Neither of these found the movie.

My main motivation for reporting the problem is that there is presumably a reason why a movie in imdb is not found, and it could possibly be a bug in the search logic. I wanted to let you know so that if anyone could verify and fix the underlying problem, they would have an easy test. A search on the imdb web site itself has no problems.

The only thing I didn't try was the imdb number. This is useful to know.

IMDb lists The Silver Chair as a TV Serie and as far as I know the importer only searches for movies. You can however import it by entering the IMDb ID in the custom string. You can also create a file named The Silver Chair (1990).nfo with the link to IMDb, that takes precedence over the name matching system.
