I recently built a new server, & ran in to problems importing my old recordings. Ends up the problem is related to the channel name attached to the recording. The recordings were made using the channel names on my old server, which don't always exist on my new install.
Steps to reproduce
1) Shut down TV service
2) Run SQL management suite & delete one of your recordings from the database.
3) Go to recordings folder, & edit the xml coupled with that recording. Change the channel name to something not in your current channel list, & save the file.
4) Run the TV service & go to the recordings import tab.
5) The program you removed from the database should be listed, but will be greyed out.
6) Selecting the checkbox still works, & allows you to click import, but the import will never be successful.
This will happen anytime someone changes TV providers, or if they had renamed their channels in a previous install. The recordings are left orphaned, since the database can't bind them to a current channel in the database.
