There is resolution problem when using WMR9 exclusive mode on secondary screen. Only 'no signal' appears when video should start. Audio is hearable so video is running ok. When playing is stopped skin is back, but only in quarter size at upper left corner of the screen (in my case). This happens only in full screen mode. EVR and VMR9 without exclusive mode are working fine.

I have tested all public SVN builds and this is 4th where this issue happens. I reverted back to 08-22-2008 (rev. 20010) again and it works. So problem could be somewhere in 20010-20078 revision changes..?

I can confirm that I have the same problem. I use MediaPortal with a secondary monitor. Ever since the 22 August SVN, MP changes the resolution when trying to play movies or watch TV.

I too am having this same resolution problem with MP running in nvidia DualView on a secondary monitor. Switching to non-exclusive works with far worse performance. Reverted back to RC2 original.

    could u try and set ur refresh rate on both display devices to the same.
    ex 50hz or whatever. then start MP and retry mediaplayback.

    I guess u r using screen1 as work screen, and screen2 as MP.

    when going back to this scenario;
    screen1 60hz
    screen2 50hz

    when MP wrongfully hanges refrershrate on screen2, can u see what refreshrate it changes to ?
    by using the OSD of the TV or monitor, or by supplying logs with this specific scenario.

    Hi!
    Thx gibman for ur reply :D
    Refresh rates have always been same on my both displays, but I got an other idea from ur mail.

    I guess u r using screen1 as work screen, and screen2 as MP.
    My dualview setup was as following:
    Screen1, secondary, TV (MP)
    Screen2, primary, monitor (work screen)
    =>Not working with latest SVN's (resolution is messed up). Somehow this strange setup could sometimes happen, if you use NVidia's ConrolPanel to set dualview.

    I succeed to change it better way:
    Screen1, primary, monitor (work screen)
    Screen2, secondary, TV (MP)
    =>Working fine!

    So I don't know is this really a bug, altought MP worked on secondary screen number one with earlier SVN's (and with pure MP RC2 of course). Anyway best thing is to get mediaplayback working again with latest SVN's :)

    Kuku, iwa93stt, naich or anybody else struggling with this problem, I hope you find some help with this. There could be something else too? Please reply your results...

    can u try the attachment on latest svn ?

    /gibman
    Sorry but I haven't downloaded latest svn (20339) and now it's removed :(

    I tried this with latest working svn (20268), but it didn't work (crash during splashscreen.. Log: "System.NullReferenceException: object reference not set to an instance of an object" (MediaPortalApp..ctor())). I can upload full logs, but I think this come with the territory.

    Great news gibman! It seems everything is working fine with those files! No matter which order I set screens (switched few times) :)

    I did following tests:
    - I renamed old mediaportal.exe and core.dll to *.bac and tested mediaplayback with files u provided (switching screens order) => no problem with playback and resolution isn't messed up anymore when stopped playing.
    - Just to be sure I took old files back to use => All the problems did come back. MP works fine on secondary screen only if its set as screen number two (as I've reported earlier)
