I got the terratec bda driver from here

Problem :
I have successfully installed mediaportal and got my af9005 usb to work using the BDA drivers.
My problem is, when scanning for channels, the signal strength bar is full but the signal quality strength is empty. I am really close to our local mast (stockland hill) and I was wondering if the signal was too strong? If so, is there anything I can do? I have a 2 freeview boxes, one using an internal aerial and one with a roof aeril. These both receive all channels fine 99% of the time.

I hope I have included everything I need to.
thanks loads, loving it other than this!!!

Rule out incorrect or faulty cables, even check that the connectors aren't plugged in incorrectly.

Some PC spec tuners can be overloaded by too strong a signal whereas a STB will work fine.

In this case you can use an attenuator to reduce the signal to an acceptable level for the PC tuner so overload doesn't occur.

Also reinstal the BDA drivers just incase there lies the fault.

many TV-Cards do not provide correct signal strenght/quality values.
so the information which is displayed/logged is totaly wrong ;)

    Ok thanks.
I checked and the cables work (I tried them with my freeviewbox) and are plugged in correctly and have reinstalled the BDA driver.
Today i will try to but an attenuator to see if that helps.
    thank you.

thanks, interesting to note .. however, it would make sense if PC tuners are more sensitive as e are VERY close!
    thank you though :)
