I stumbled up on a nasty problem. I would like to say thanks to i-loop for helping me analyze this situation. It was an interesting few days of testing. We've tried a lot of things. For now I'll focus on just the server in this multi-seat config. as it doesn't really matter which client you use (vlc or MediaPortal), the results are persistent.

The situation:

I have a multi-seat config setup with the last SVN versions of MP and TVEngine3.
The server and client are both fast machines with c2d cpu's.
When I tune in to a channel most of the channels I have give a corrupted/stuttering/crashing result. It doesnt matter if I use VLC or MediaPortal here.

Mediaportal (with useTsReader.txt) and VLC player both play the .ts-files fine which makes me conclude the stream is corrupted. To rule out the performance of the network: some SD channels and even HD channels work fine.

The bugreport:
For reporting this bug Im sticking to the server only. Because i-loop and I concluded we could rule the client out. What I did:

  1. I made sure no timeshifting was running.
  2. Deleted all logs and tsbuffers stuff.
  3. Started a timeshift from the server (manual control) with taskmanager opened, on a channelwhich triggers broken streams.
  4. After 30 seconds (give or take) I killed the TvService.exe task.
  5. uploaded the ts file to this location: http://www.hoeve.nu/mp/
  6. attached the logs to this post
  7. also attached the logs of VLC trying to play this stream. Again, it can play the TS file but i could not play the stream.

One more thing:
RTSP Streams from these channels work: ned1 - 3. Also the HD demo channels work fine.
All other channels produce broken streams.

I hope this is sufficient for now.
Let me know if you need more info.

This is my first bugreport; bare with me.

In my mind this is a problem with yours signalquality/strength. In my cable-network there is one transponder, that shows up the same problem, when the transponder is working on full capacity.
The main problem seems to be, that the rtp-stream is vulnerable to errors, that are contained in the received transportstream. I can view the same channel in an single-seat-enviroment without any problems, while viewing in a multiseat-environment is not possible (stutters...).

    maybe, but...
    1. the signal quality is around 80%
    2. i used mythTV until now and I had no problems with the streaming

Complete agreement. It is a MP-based problem (high sensitivity of any component: TSWriter/TSReader..), that might be fixed.
On the other hand - how to fix something, that is unreproducible?! Hope, somebody will fix it ;)
