I'm using russian translation in MP and have some issues with StreamedMP skin:
    1) In MovingPictures title of the "recent" movies windows is shown in some stranfe symbols
    2) Skin settings are also represented in strange symbols

However, movie descriptions, russian filenames are shown correctly.

What should be done to fix this? Maybe I should do some tricks in skin xml files?

Looking at your screen show of most recents, the movie titles are not in CAPS BOLD so looks like TitleCaps are wrong as well. As you can see the English are in CAPS Bold.

Well, I looked into the files from GoogleCode with FontCreator - all of them don't have cyrillic symbols.
It sems that system just choses the most compatible font possible instead of original ones.
I can try to find some cyrillic fonts that may seem like the ones used in the skin - so that you can add all 33 ciryllic symbols into the fonts (I don't work with font editing software and trial version of FontCreator won't save the result).

Or maybe I can just reassign fonts?

I have no idea, I have no experience with fonts. The fonts come from XBMC MediaStream skin so it might be worth seeing if someone has already did the work.

I've checked fonts in XBMC MediaStream 1.5 and XBMC MediaStream Redux 1.0 - both font collections already has many language-specific glyphs including greek, cyrillic etc. However, TitleCaps font doesn't have cyrillic glyphs.
I'll replace your fonts with those from XBMC skins and post here results.

Seems you were right - there is actually a russian font pack for StreamedMP:
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/137176/StreamedMP_fonts_ru.zip

Bottomline: now all titles for movies, series, music tracks etc looks great - all capitalized, bold and in russian.
However, 2 problems described in first post seems to be unsolvable

Could it be that the translations for Russian in language\streamedmp are not correct encoding?

Yep, this was the problem :)
I've changed first string of the translation: encoding="windows-1251" and that's it!
