    MediaPortal Version: SVN 10.04.2006 / 17.28.Rev10773
    Windows Version: Windows XP SP2
    [1. TV Card: Hauppage 150MCE
    1. TV Card Type: Analogue
    2. TV Card: Hauppage Nova-T 500MCE
    2. TV Card Type: DVB-T (dual)
    3. TV Card: FloppyDTV DVB-S
    3. TV Card Type: DVB-S

Im (desperatly) tring to set up my parents HTPC :)

Im trying to do a channel scan in MediaPortal on the DVB-S card.

My parents have Canal Digital Family, and use the Thor 2/3 satellite.

Using the predefined Thor 2/3 satellites i do find some channels, but its 10 out of hundreds that should be found.

I do know the correct frequences, V/H and symbol rates, and if i scan them in MyTheatre i find all the channels.

The CAM works fine i can watch scrambled channels(the one i have scanned anyway) in both MP and MyTheatre.

Im a bit unsure about their LNB setup. they do have dual LNBs but they only use the one(the other points to Astra but is not used). When scanning in MP i see plenty of signal strength so i think the correct LNB is being used.

I tried creating my own *.tpl file with the following contents:

    satname=My Satellite
    11403,V,24500
    11293,H,24500
    11309.V.24500
    11309,H,24500
    11229,H,24500
    11325,H,24500
    11325,H,28000
    11357,H,24500

I have checked on Canal Digitals home page and in MyTheatre that there should be at least a few channels on each of these transponders. but MP only finds a few channels.

Im a bit confused about many of the settings in the DVB-S autotune(Tone and Ku-band/C-band for example) and help would be much appreciated. In MyTheatre the Ku-Band frequences seems to be set to the same values as KuBand in MP. MyTheatre doesnt have any Tone setting so i have no idea about that.

    Hmm.. Help, please :)

Turns out that hardware PID filtering must be disabled before scanning. Kind of strange, could be considered a bug.

Anyway, for me the problem is 'solved', but enabling hw PID filtering shouldnt block autotuning!
