Hi everyone!

I'm running Media Portal 0.2 with update 4 and so far everything is working fine - except for one little thing: I can't use "Dvr-Mpeg Cut ". For some reason it doesn't show me any files at all ... not even my harddrive. It's sort of hard to select the recording to cut without a list of choices :). All I see is the "back"-button.

Could anybody give me a hint on how to solve this problem?

Thanks in advance,
Tobi

Is there any way I can keep my settings when I'm updating to the version 0.2.1? It took me quite a while to set everything up and it would be a bit painful to go through all this again...

Cheers, Tobi

    YES!

Strings have to be updated, if you would like to have it called VideoEditor or VideoEditore, too.;)

    Ralph

VideoEditore does not sound that that nice. "Studio di Montaggio" is better, but too long, I think. "Montaggio"? it means "video editing", quite technical.

Moreover, I think there are some problems with italian strings in whole videoeditor. At the end of cutting phase a message appear
    "Dvr-ms cut finished
    Mpeg cut finished
    Yes No" (in italian, obviously)

It's not clear what Yes/no is about. I think it's a question about keeping the original file, so there should be a question like "Mantenere il file originale? Sì/no" (keep the original file Yes/no).

Feel free to call it in italian what you mean would be the best.:)
You can easily change the language to english and see what comes up.
In english there should be the question: "would you like to delete original file?"

    Hi all

Look sorry for being dumb - but I'm having the same problem that Tobidiver described - all I get is the back button with no computer directories/files etc. I don't understand any of the replies about the new name being videoeditor etc - I can't see any reference to videoeditor in mp setup which is what I assume people mean by "configuration". I have downloaded dvr-mpegcut and followed the installation instructions by copying the two xml folders into the blue two skin folder and the dll folder into the plugins windows folder. In myplugins dvr-mpeg cut is enabled. SO what else do I need to do? Tobi - did you get this problem fixed?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi NZOldFart,

As VideoEditor is now part of mediaportal's distribution, you don't need to download it separately any longer.
(I think we should delete the external download link).

Just open setup (configuration.exe) -> Plugins-> VideoEditor and enable that Plugin.
Starting MediaPortal you will see VideoEditor in the Plugins section.

AH - many thanks Ralph - strange - I thought I'd looked there for videoeditor but when I looked again - there it was! Have had a quick play - I don't see any option for converting to mpeg within videoeditor - do I have to have mencoder installed for that option to appear? Also I couldn't seem to get the slider to work even using the keyboard arrows so don't know what's going on there. Also sometimes the fast forward button doesn't work to move through the programm I'm cutting. On one movie it worked fine - fast forwarded to the commercials for cutting but on another the fast forward didn't work at all??? The final problem I have to solve is that the cut version doesn't have any sound at all. The original is fine. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Thanks again.

System is Athlon Xp2800+, Silverstone LC16 case with imon vfd and imon pad remote. I use SPDIF out connected to receiver. Hauppauge 500MCE and Hauppauge 150MCE. MP vers 2.2.0.
