Problem with HD channels: black screen (1 Viewer)

I recently updated to MP1.1.1 and changed skin to SteamedMP at the same time. Now I have issues with all HD channels: MP usually hangs when selecting an HD channel.

HD was never too stable on my system, but since the upgrade it is unworkable. The screen freezes (usually I get a black screen, if it hangs from the TV guide, it sticks with the guide screen) although I am hearing the HD sound. MP is responding to remote signals (I can switch channel, for example) but visually I am stuck on the black screen. The only solution is to power down and reboot - for some reason, I can't kill MP using task manager.

I noticed that my system was using 100% of CPU when switching to an HD channel, so I cleaned up my system (removing unneccessary apps from startup) to lower the CPU charge. This seems to have improved things as I can usually switch HD channels a couple of times before freezing. Also, I can preview all HD channels in TV server config without any issues.

Logs are attached. I powered up at 18:42, selected BB1, BBC2 and then BBC HD when the system hung (powered down to restart my system). I'm not very good a reading the logs but I don't think these will help...

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

60 views but no ideas?

Maybe I can start with a simple question: can the quality of my satelite feed cause this black screen? My setup, including HD, worked well on Sunday night, but now we´re having a snow storm, the black screen is back.

I'm no expert on this but when I get heavy rain/snow BBC HD just pixelates and freezes, and then comes back eventually - my screen never blacks out.

Out of the limited HD channels I do have, it was BBC HD that gave me more problems than most - I don't know why as it is not "full" HD (1440 x 1080 I think?). Most of my probs were due to onboard graphics, and since I went to an ATI HD5550 a couple of weeks back I have not had any problems. I just use the Win 7 codecs.

Searching around the forums gave me the idea to try another codex. In config I changed my H.264 video and TV codex from PowerDVD to DivX and the probelm seems to have vanished...
