Hello everybody...

I had finally fantastic Media Portal working but i had some troubles with HDTV files "Band of Brothers"

The thing is that it works, but before the movie start, I get this message...

Mkx
"A decoder for the new track could not be found. Track Type:"

What is my problem?I had installed the latest Haali Media Spliter and I use for h.264 core AVC, and for audio ffdshow. The same file works perfectly on Windows Media Player

Thank you a lot!!!

Saludos from SPAIN!!!

same problem here when trying to play blu ray discs (browsing for m2ts file manually) - anyone gotten around it?

For me if I click ok some videos on the blu ray disc play but the main video file plays with audio only (no video) - any ideas?

Is that down to the fact that MP does not support Blu Ray\HDDVD's only something like PowerDVD has the key to unlock these disks.

For the foreseeable future, you would have to enable "use external player", and not even certain that works, as no HD or blu-ray disk to try myself.

Hi Paranoid Delusion - thanks for your post. That was my understanding and yet through the combination of AnyDVD HD and using PowerDVD codecs I can successfully play most of the video content on my blu ray copy of Casino Royale(!) inside MP.

It's only the main feature which doesn't play.

I'm not sure if the issue is CP related because AnyDVD HD seems to get around that - without AnyDVD HD none of the content will play.

    Any ideas?

I will probably use external player for now but I was surprised when some of the content played....

Same problem here, I have the complete Michael Clayton 1080p Blu-ray on my harddisk. Plays fine with Nero 8 Showtime (including menu's). The single mts2 file plays fine too with bsplayer and ffdshow. But if I start the file in mediaportal I get this message:

    m2tsfileerrorrr7.jpg

When I click 'ok' the file starts, but I have no image, only audio. It plays fine, I can skip and see the OSD, but the screen stays black. When I play the same file with bsplayer on my pc, and enable 'fullscreen video' in the nVidia settings (7900GS), it also shows just fine on my plasma tv. As you can see I've experimented quite alot, but still can't get it to work. Any one that knows why?

I suspect it has something to do with the Haali Media Splitter, because when I play the m2ts file with bsplayer, and I select a subtitle by clicking on the icon, it gives me the exact same message it does in MP.
The Michael Clayton m2ts file contains 4 audiostreams and 4 subtitles. The audiostreams I can select succesfully within MP, the subtitles I can not, neither can I in bsplayer.

    Config:

    Windows XP SP3
    AMD 64 X2 6400+ CPU
    Geforce 7900GS with Forceware 174.16
    Panasonic Plasma 42'
Mediaportal 0.2.3.0 + recent nightly build
    ffdshow build march 20th 2008
    Haali Media Splitter 29.12.2007

It seems this thread regarding mp4 has gotten corrupted with a discussion regarding blu-ray rips. Lets stay on the thread subject and if you have a problem that "maybe" similar, first look for a thread regarding your subject. If you can find a blu-ray subject then create a new thread.

    Hi!

I (almost) solved this problem for me by using an external player (MPlayerClassics) for movies with CoreAVC-codecs.
When using the parameter "%filename% /play /close" the player will close after playing the video and returns back to MP.
The next step will be mapping the MplayerClassic- keys to myFireDTV-remote control.

    ciao, lup

    Hi!

my first solution was not very satisfying and the question about the filter-differences between Media Player Classic and Media Portal still bothers me.
Therefore i took a closer look at the graphs with "graphstudio" from Monogram.
The first screenshot is the graph produced with remote graph-connection from media player classic which plays the files without any problems.
The second screenshot is the graph media portal uses to play m2ts-videofiles when using the coreavc/haali duo. You can see that the MP-graph has a not connected node (subtitle) and a not used filter hanging around.
The solution was now to set the merit of the "Internal Script Command Renderer" from 00800001 to 00200000 which means don´t use it".
You can do that with the "Radlight Filtermanager".

After that (and doing a reboot) the error message was gone and the coreavc (V.1.7) plays files in excellent quality :):):)

    ciao, lup

PS: still not a complete fix!!!!...today I found out that the recordings I made since this change didn´t have audio!!:-((( so the search goes on...

PPS: ...but using the .ts- format for recordings works perfect!!!
