TV - HTPC Connection:

Hello together,
I have a little problem with Media Portal.
I got everything installed on my HTPC an started the configuration. After a little troubleshooting with the wrong divx decoder I got everything work fine!
After UNPLUGGING the HTPC from my TFT and plugging it just to my TV via TV-Out (SVHS), there comes the error-msg
"Warning: Nothing will be rendered......Direct3D feature set, but runs very slowly"
after pressing the OK button the program starts but I can't see anything besides the frame (it's empty) and after closing the program there comes the error msg "Media Portal crashed unexpectedly"
I didn't change anything an the GFX is an Gigabyte GV-R96P128DE (ATI Radeon 9600, 128MB RAM, passive cooled)

I used the drivers coming along with Windows XP (updatet 06/2007)

Anyone got this problem, too?
Do I need to install an ATI driver providing special TVOut features or do I just have to configure anything different on Media Portal?

Thx for answers,
Radget

Same here

I am having the same problem. Used MP for a long time with a monitor and TV-out hooked up. Made the machine a dedicated HTPC and removed the CRT Monitor. Now I get the same message as mentioned above and a blank frame. I have tried it with RC2 and all of the SVN's up until today. Any ideas ?

Abit NF7-S v2.0, ATI X800 GTO, XP Pro, 1 Gig Dual Channel DDR400.

Thanks in advance.

*update* I think I found the trouble. DirectX doesnt like to run on TVs. Since MP need DirectX to render the menus it needs to be on a DirectX complient display. Perhaps there will be a dumbed down version for people who only use a TV with no monitor.

Turns out the new ATI drivers were causing the directX trouble. I backed up from Catalyst 7.9 to 7.1 and bam all working now. Try going back a few driver sets if you are having this problem with DirectX 9c rendering.
