Synopsis::

When I open a certain folder in 'my pictures' (the "PERSONAL" folder), media portal closes after a couple of seconds. Sometimes it comes up with an error (This is what the error said:

EventType : clr20r3 P1 : mediaportal.exe P2 : 0.0.0.0 P3 : 44452569
P4 : system.drawing P5 : 2.0.0.0 P6 : 4333aeaf P7 : 13e P8 : 3d
P9 : system.outofmemoryexception

and other times it just says that Media Player had to close unexpectedly (I can't remember exactly the wording, and i can't seem to replicate that message again.)

Any idea on how to fix it? I tried uninstalling media portal and deleting the left over folder, and reinstalling it, but it seems to still do it.

    Hi,
    Probably a bad picture, use Windows Explorer open the folder & select thumbs view & see if you find a picture which is broken, then remove it & test again.

    Regards

    If not virulent than at least the file is corrupted - otherwise Windows wouldn't hog memory - nothing MP can do about.

    I got it to work after I took out half of the folders in it (the folder had about 8 gb in it.) However, I want to keep all the folders in this folder (because of the my pictures screensaver.) Is that normal for MP to crash if there is a 8gb folder? or might it be something else?

    Hi Burdell1,

    I had the same problem because I added an extra extension in Setup MediaPortal (Picture extensions)for .PSD pictures!!!

    Did you add any extra extensions?!?!?
