Problems with DNTV! Live DVB-T (1 Viewer)

Synopsis::

There is something wrong with my DNTV! Live PCI DVB-T card. While MediaPortal is recognising the card I'm getting an 'Unable to create graph' error when I select the card in the TV section of the config app. I have the latest drivers for the card. I also have a Twinhan Visionplus clone which was not working, but since I updated to the latest drivers now works properly. I have applied the multiple DVB tuner patch, but this hasn't fixed the error.
I've made sure that no other program is currently using the card.
I'm new to MediaPortal and like to use its multi-tuner capability, but at this point, I'm not sure what else to do. I've searched the forum, but haven't come up with anything useful.
Am happy to include a log file if necessary - let me know if that will help diagnose the problem. The card seems to be working okay in other apps (MeedioTV and DVB Webscheduler).

Yes, it would help - post your MediaPortal.log file information (Please use http://mp.pastebin.com and then post the link in your forum thread)

I am guessing that the device ID of your card doesn't match any of the device IDs in the current CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file - this is something you might want to check first.....

Taipan, thanks heaps for your help - I really appreciate it.
I think that you're right about the Device Id being different. I checked the Hardware ID for the card in Device Manager and it has a different ID string to what's in the Capture Card Definitions file. I intially thought that they differed only by a single character, so altered the definitions file - now mediaportal is telling me there is no new card to add. Should I just copy the Hardware ID as it is in Device manager over the Device id in the Capture Cards defs file?
I might try this myself anyway - I just don't want to break anything.

No, I don't think that will work - the formatting of the device ID is slightly different (because of the "&") for the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file. Have a careful look at a similar entry for a DNTVLive! card and you should see the differences in format. As it is usually only one character that is different, it is usually better to find which character has changed and just change that one, leaving the rest of the definition as is.

Alternately, post your deviceID here and I will take a look at it and suggest how it could be fixed...

Well you were right, it didn't work.
I'd be really grateful if you could help me work out the correct Device ID.

The devid in the original CaptureCardsDefinition.xml was:
devid="ven_14f1&dev_8802&subsys_a8a617de&rev_05"

The id from Device Manager for the DNTV Live! BDA DVB-T Tuner/Demod Tuner 1 is:
ven_14f1&dev_8800&subsys_a8a617de&rev_05.

Tried substituting 8800 for 8802 - get a "No video capture card(s) were found, you won't be able to configure a caputure card" error.

There is, however, another entry in the device manager for the DNTV card called DNTV Live! Transport Stream Capture Tuner 1 with an id string that's the same as the original ID, ie with 8802. Changing it back to 8802 makes it an "Unable to create graph for this device", error, but the card is recognised as 'DNTV Live' Transport Capture Tuner 1" as in Windows Device Manager.

So, not sure what to do now, as I'm back to where I started. Will try posting log again. Is there something else I can do with the Device ID? The one that was originally in the CapcardsDefinition.xml appeared to list a valid device.

OK, so much for my theory about the device ID....

Looking at your log file, I noticed this Exception error message at line 294

But, I don't know what file is missing?

Do all the other functions (Music, Videos, Weather, etc) of MediaPortal work OK?

I did a google of HRESULT: 0x80070002, and it seemed to point to .NET not being installed correctly - you might need to do some more research in that area?

Okay, thanks. I might try a reinstall of .net and mediaportal as well, see if that fixes tings up.
Can't do it at the moment as we're currently using the HTPC, but I'll work on it over the next few days.

I am having a very similar problem.
All was working well in 0.2RC4. I just upgraded tonight to the final release and my DNTV! Live LP card will not tune anymore.
I have another card (Compro) and that works fine.
When I clear all channels and do a autoscan on the DNTV card it only finds SBS and ABC in Sydney no other channels.

Disregard last posting from me.
After I uninstalled RC4 and reinstalled 0.2 it seem I needed to clear all stations then REBOOT the system before autotuning again.

I am not sure why this is - perhaps my video tuner card stores channels in somesort of flash ram I am not sure.
But I should have done the IT thing and rebooted between installs in the first place.

The system now running fine on Version 0.2 in fact the tuning of my two cards seems better than ever.
