I'm running the latest builds on MP. I'm having some problems with playback iof recordings in MP.

Fresh XP install with fresh install of MP and TVserver .3.

recording TV appears to work ok except :

Recorded HD channels have two audio streams - stream 1 mpeg, stream 2 ac3. When playing back, it defaults to stream one with is only noise (it sounds like wav of the ac3 file). selecting stream 2 works ok when selected. how can I remove stream 1 or default to stream 2? recording of standard channels works ok.

when I add useTsReader.txt to c:\

I cannot playback any recorded .ts files. the playback is all choppy and looks like it's playing back at a high rate of speed!

i can playback the recorded file ok in another player (other than the audio stream problem). Graphedit renders the file properly also. Any ideas?

here's a pic of graphedit. I selected the tsreader, then the file (took a few minutes before anything showed up after selecting the file). Once loaded I rendered the pins on the .ts file.

Looks like that .ts file contains multiple video PIDs. TsReader doesn't support more than one video PID in the .ts file. Looks like TsWriter is doing something wrong, as it shouldn't record more than one video PID.

    1) delete TsWriter.log
    2) make a recording in .ts format on the HD channel
    3) upload the TsWriter.log

first, thank-you for taking the time to reply! very much appreciated!

I did as you requested. Opened MP, recorded a hd channel, went to recorded shows and then played back the recorded file. logs are attached.

i checked the recorded file in dgindex and there are two streams, as you said.

when I detect the PIDs in the recorded file (same as the logs in the previous post) I get :

    Program 825
    pcr on PID 0x1121
    MPEG2 Video on PID 0x1121
    [Scrambled]
    AC3/DTS Audio on PID 0x1124
    Program 819
    pcr on PID 0x1111
    MPEG2 Video on PID 0x1111
    [Scrambled]
    AC3/DTS Audio on PID 0x1114

program 819 is the correct stream, if I select playback in dgindex of that PID, everything appears ok. I have no idea where tswriter or tsreader is getting x1121 from, unless it is a sub-channel in the stream that isnt being used. When I try to playback x1121 I get an error reporting no data.

I checked the the live1-0.ts.tsbuffer files and they all show only one stream.

I absolutely can not playback any recordings in .ts format and I've placed file useTsReader.txt in C:\. Any ideas please?

In current SVNs the TsReader is used by default (and it's not possible to use the old TSFileSource as it's ont supported anymore) so useTsReader.txt doesn't have any effect.

Please post some logs (at least TsReader.log and Mediaportal.log).

Was this ever resolved or did everyone just give up.

I also have the same or similar problem of not being able to playback TS recorded files that are in HD.

The same files playback just fine in VLC.
