Started on: 2008-1-29 last update: 2008-1-29 Summary: The current level of support for NA style channel numbering, leaves something to be desired. There are numerous threads on the forums, by people who don't know what's going on when it comes to channel number support. A couple of changes would go a long way to making things easier on new users Description: The option (in the client) to show channel numbers, should be made use of, by allowing the channel number column to be populated properly for NA users. A setting on TVE3 was added a while back, to add the SID to the channel name, when right clicking on the channels list. Would it not make more sense to instead have the same popup menu read & perform "Copy SID to Channel #"? This would then properly number the channels, & as long as the "show channel numbers" option was on in the client, things would appear as a new NA user would expect in the EPG, provided they sorted the channels by channel number on the server. Channel entry by # was added to the svns quite a while back, but it only allows channel entry while on the EPG. IcePickrg says he has added the ability to change channel by # also while in fullscreen TV. Could the devs please followup on trying to get this functionality added to the svns? The thread IcePickrg says this, is at the end of this thread https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/change_channel_channelnumber_sid_w_code-t25614p3.html?&highlight=sql+channel+number
