All,
I puzzled (doesn't take much)... My samsung supports 1080i@50Hz, 1080p@50Hz and 24p
Not quite sure what 1080i@50Hz is?? As 1080i should be 25Hz??
By default I have my HTPC set at 1080p. When I watch a movie or series the TV switches to 24Hz, once finished switches back to the default (50Hz) - So far so good. I see 50 fps via Shift1 when watching TV (and 23.xxx when watching Movies)
I occassionally suffer dropped frames (although a reboot solves it), so I thought I'd switch the TV to 1080i@50Hz by default - to see if it fixes the issue.
I use the ATI profiles to manually switch profiles (the 1080i profile forces the frequency to 25iHz) and let MePo do it automatically when needed.
I then noticed two weird things in 1080i mode:
When watching a movie, the TV does not switch to 24p???
Shift1 is still reporting 50fps??
Anyone got any ideas? Is it ATI not actually running at 25Hz, or is it the Samsung TV not running at 25Hz? Or MePo not handling it right?
Thanks,
J.
