PVR 500 - No Signal - Record only snow (1 Viewer)

Let me just say that the Portal programmers are AWESOME and this is an unbelievable piece of software, thank you all!

I was just wondering if there has been any progress on these threads.

I too have a PVR 500 (as you can see from the subject) and I am running into these problems in the above thread. I am running RC3 with SVN 4-8-13-41.

What I have been able to figure out is it all centers around a reboot. If after a reboot I bring up a "non-Antenna" channel with time shifting, all my future recordings will work. If I do not do that all I get is snow, on either tuner. I think that the answer might be in the above post, but it is unclear to me which one might fix it.

I also understand that this code is bleeding edge and there very well may not be a fix yet. I also understand that the group will need more information than I have given here. I have seen MediaPortal logs being posted, but I am not sure how to create these or if they are already being created were to find them.

I´ve got the same Problem with PVR500. Everytime I start MP I have to go to TV, start watching TV, then record something, change channel, record again, then break up both records, delete them.

After this procedure both TV-Cards are "activated" and every record is fine. Without this I just record snow.

It seems that MP is not able to tune right - in record mode. If you want to watch just live TV, MP can.

No solution on this right now.

Antenna/Cable problems

My setup with a Hauppage PVR 500 behaves as previously described here.

Sometimes the tuners are actually set back to Antenna, but more often one tuner simply behaves that way regardless of the actual setting.

it's anyone's guess if it'll record the actual program or 64 minutes of static.

i'm never more than a few days off the latest build, and religiously re-configure the app after updates. all channels are assigned to both tuners.
