Hi,

i bought a Leadtech PVR2000 analog card WITH hardware MPEG on it.

The silly Leadtech-Software works fine. Perfect picture and sound. No lags while recording.

But in MP RC3(07.04.06) sound and picture has lags :-(

Any idea what to do ? which settings i should make ?

thx for any help

Andi
P.S: PC is a AMD2800 Sepron 1 GB Ram, 2x200 GB HD, WinXP Pro

just noticed it too on my PVR2000 now.
had it on radio a while ago, but TV was working.

    Haven't found the cause yet.
When i connect via Graphedit to the Remote Graph in MP, it works correctly.
    No idea as of now.

have the same problem with graphedit as well.
traced it down to the Winfast MPEG Encoder.
when i change the audio properties to output Mono sound, the picture and audio is in sync.
Going to stereo the problem starts.
Not an MP problem, but a directshow problem.

..what Video and Audio-Codecs do you normaly choose in MP-Config for this card ?

I tried: Leadtech DTVDecoder for video and mpeg/ac3/dts audio decoder

Is there a faster choice...sometimes i thing that the onboard MPG2 encoder is not working due to the lags..maybe codec is important here too ?!

Well i was using Intervideo WinDVD and now i have the NVIDIA stuff.
But both of them have the same problem.
I tried within Graphedit to use the NVIDIA TS Demultiplexer instead of the MPEG-2 Demultiplexer, and there i have crystal clear audio, but no video.
    Need to experiment further.

    Andi,

the reason for the native PVR software working is, that they're not using DirectX graphs for that.
As they know their Hardware, they can natively access it.
You can see that by starting he native PVR sw and then use Graphedit to connect to the Remote Graph.
You'll see the list is empty, which means no graph is used.
doing the same thing with MP, you'll see the created graph.

    Hallo Helmut,

well thats sad. I had a lagging TV card (without MPEG2 hardware) and bought therefore one with MPEG2 encoder....and the problem is not gone.

Is it the same problem with Hauppauge PVR100 and 200 ?

There must be a way to get it to run without lags...i´ll ask google. If i find a solution i will post it..

    Bis bald

    Hi Andi,

there's no problem with the PVR500 for example.
I have that in my "real" HTPC in the living room.
The PVR2000 in my other pc, which i use for testing MP.

what should i say. A few minutes ago i made it work.
    Don't know how.
I was trying to find some alternative MPEG Demuxer to build a test graph.
found the K-Lite Free codes package at http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm

This had also the effect, that some garbage codecs entries left from previous unclean de-installations have been removed.
Then i gave it a try again and now i have sound and picture in sync.

Graphedit shows to graphs being built by MP.
The first one from the Tuner up to a DVR filter
and the second from the DVR filter to the NVIDIA decoders.

Now when going to Radio, MP crashes, but that's a different story now.

    regards,

    Helmut
