I travel quite a bit and some of my travels take me to some very remote areas of the world. Internet connectivity is usually slow at best. I have tried to "stream"(playback) recordings from my HTPC at home to my MP client via the internet. This is usually impossible. What I would like to do is download the .TS file to my laptop and then play it locally.
How can I do this? I tried to do it with MP client but it always wants to connect to a TV server. I don't want such an installation on my laptop. I just want to double click the .TS file and watch the recording locally (once I have downloaded the .TS file from my HTPC).
Can someone point my in the right direction? Can I just install the MP client and set some configuration parameters? Can I use VLC instead?
