Hello,

I'm recording digital TV using a DVB-S card. I recognized that there is the possibility to set the quality for the recorded file.
Does this have an effect if I record digital TV? I thought that Media Portal just saves the received stream in a file. Does it really process the stream to save disc space?
Will the stream be saved as it was received without changes if I choose highest quality?

Thank's for your reply!

That setting does NOT affect DVB, cause DVB is already MPEG-2. As you said, the stream is just written as it is, no matter what you do.
The setting only affects analog hardware encoding cards like e.g. the PVR series from Hauppauge.

Change default quality setting?

I am new to Mediaportal and I have a question.

What is the default quality setting that is selectable on the Recordings Page?
I see default, portable, low, medium and high quality options, but I have not been able to find which is default.
Is it possible to change this default value?
