Hi,

At this moment I have 1 FloppyDTV S2 card.

I am thinking about to put FloppyDTV cards in server and to watch TV with clients over the network.

1. But if I want to watch the same channel in two different rooms how mutch FloppyDTV cards do I need?

2. And if I want to wacht two channels which are on different transponders?

3. Does server encode HD channels and send it to the clients or do I need to have powerful CPU on the client side?

4. How many cables do I need to connect my dish to TV server (server)?

I hope someone can help me. Thank you.

    Hi,

    1. One Card
    2. 2 Cards
    3. The Stream is tranported to Clients "as it is" withoout reencoding. So you need CPU/GPU on Client Side.
    4. In Case 1 1 and in Case 2 2 ;)

    point 2 is correct
in room 1 can you use any channel
in room 2 you can get the channel from room 1 over active streams

or another channel that is on the same transponder /frequency where the channel from room 1 is

Ok I think the reason is that LNB can only serve 1 frequency at time?

But is there is no possibility to have only one cable from LNB to one dvb-s card and to connect card 1 with card 2?

Because if I want to watch in room 1, room 2 and to record (different transponders) I need 3 dvb-s cards and also 3 cables from LNB to dvb-s cards?
    Is this correct?

if you have a singel LNB than yes
you need than a twin (2 reciver outputs ), quad (4 reciver outputs ), octo (8 reciver outputs ) or if you need mor outputs use a quattro with a multiswitsh
than can you use option 16 reciver outputs or more with kaskaded multiswitches
