    Hi!

I've downloaded the actual SVN Version compiled it myself - and WOW it looks really great.

    But i've two questions:
1.) Is it possible to actualize movie db in MP without going to MP config?
2.) What is remove control filtering?

    Thanks!

    Stefan

    Sorry, bit off-topic:
How did you compile it? Id like to be able to do this myself. :)

i'm not quite sure what you mean with question 1?
As for 2, it's actually "use remote filtering":
Enables the Remote Control Filter, set to false if you want to use the default mediaportal remote control functionality.

It's the builtin, enhanced version of using the remote control "sms" style and more

Btw did you know that unofficial releases (including "build your own") are unsupported ;)

With Question 1 i mean - when i put a new movie in one of my scanned folders and MovingPicutures does not find them is it possible that i can provide a custom search string and so on in MP without going to MP config screen.

Yeah i know that this is unsupported BUT:
1.) there is no official SVN build so i must compile it myself
2.) if nobody uses the SVN who fills the bug tracker

I believe approving from within the GUI is already somewhere on the issue list.

no you don't, nobody is forcing you to compile yourself ;)
2.) if nobody uses the SVN who fills the bug tracker
Well, after official release new issue and bugs will submerge and be planned for bugfix releases. Bugfix releases are the 0.0.1 incremental releases and they do come almost immediately after showstopper bugs are revealed. As lately proven by the Ofdb issues.
Also, release candidates are tested thoroughly in a relative short time. So there really is no need for a "weekly" svn build. This forum would probable be swarmed with posts regarding the "unstable and unapproved" svn builds. Time is better spend on the official (beta) releases.

So yeah, you can build your own, but nothing more. Normal issues and requests are already monitored closely by fforde, armandp and travisx. (and other developers I must say.)
There is no gain on managing "extra issues and bugs" on SVN builds.

    1) not yet, the closest issue matching your request would be Issue #83
    2) marvenius did a good job at answering this question already

Feel free to compile your own dll from SVN but i must stress that using these versions is at your own risk.
We won't be answering questions on the forums about custom builds.

Armandp and marvenius are right. Anyone is free to build a DLL from the SVN repository, but builds like that are not supported. For what it's worth though we are getting very close to a 0.7 release. I think we will enter internal testing within the next day which means we plan on releasing within a week.

Don't get me wrong, you are welcome to use a built DLL you created yourself. :p We are just letting you and everyone else know our policy on this. You're free to build an SVN version, but we ask you don't redistribute it. And of course we don't officially support anything but actual releases.
