Radio addon (1 Viewer)

Wonder if it would be possible to get the radio function to stream the Artist+song on the radio screen.
I know this in fo is broadcasted alongside with the actual radio sound itself as most modern car radios can display this info on their display.
I just donøt know if this info is also included in the radio that comes via cable...
But would be cool to have the info displayed/streamed on radio screen

Well, I dunno what RDS is, so wasn't intentionally asking for that
But I'm guessing it is related?
I have an Hauppauge MCE500 ...dunno if that has RDS or not?
But more importantly, is RDS supported by MP?

I don't know if any TV Card support RDS. And I don't think it's supported by MP anyway atm.

I don't think MCE500 has RDS. Very few cards do (I think I have seen just one?).

If the hardware doesn't support it, then it's irrelevant to implement it in the software.

BTW, I would agree it is STUPID NOT to implement RDS in TV/radio cards. It's already there. It is as stupid as vendor software that just allows for 18 FM station memories (like most car FM radios)...

Hi

Yes would be nice as in DAB (digital audio broadcasting) playing song name/artist scrolling or not on screen, but again no\few cards supporting this function.

This would mean a whole new group of TV\RADIO cards being made by manufacturers, which until they do, and the broadcasting is set up, not likely to happen in the near future.

DAB radio must get, on the list but not high priority.
