Hi,

MediaPortal allowes you to add radio streams to your configuration. When connected to the stream through Windows Media Player I can see the stream information like artist, song, genre, bitrate and more.

MediaPortal doesn't show anything. I can add the genre en bitrate in the configuration panel manually, but is there a way to read this information from the internet?

If you use the Bass Player and you play the Stream through MyMusic, you should see Information about the station, song, artist, etc, depending on what the station delivers.

I use Bass Player, and even streaming through Music the overlays rarely show any data when I am playing the stream. Maybe I am not doing it correctly? I just use a Radio stations playlist. Is that right? Or is there some way to use the Music features other than playlist?

Also, many of my radio logos don't display when the station is playing, although they do appear in the GUI. Is there something special I have to do to the logos? They are all stored in my thumbs\radio folder. They are all the same size, and they all display when I stream the same stations using the RadioTime plugin.

All the above was tested using Blue3. Any suggestions?

I use the TV-Server's radio plugin for webstreams and it seems to display everything nicely. Please look at your log - it should list everything the (e.g. icecast) stream contains.

Thanks RTV I did some more testing, and you are right, when the stream provides info it does show, I guess just a lot of my streams (weird but great Canadian Radio) don't stream much info. I added all the current file tags to my overlay info and now I do get some more info showing.

I still can't figure out the logos though! The files all look the same to me - same resolution and quality, but some display in the overlay and some don't. Any ideas?

These logos have to be named 100% identical to the station's name (even spaces).

I know, I copied the names from the TVServer Config and pasted them to the file name. They look exactly the same to me! The weird part is they do show up in the main screen using #selectedthumb (<id>204</id>), so the name must be correct. They just don't show up in the overlay with the #Play.Current.Thumb tag.

    Icecast Streams

I run several Icecast streams internally and don't see any information as to what is playing, although they play just fine. It has always bothered me. The external shoutcast streams show the proper information.

Here is what the log shows. It seems to be getting the song title and artist, but does not display it.

When I play a Shoutcast station, the log shows more info. Here's an example:

Any ideas on how to get the song title and artist to show up? I can see that it getting the information from the stream but does not display that information. By the way, Winamp and other apps show this informtion.

    TIA,

    Cruzer
