Just got an idea..
Would it not be possible to use a ramdrive like this ---> http://www.g4tv.com/techtvvault/features/14799/Make_a_RAM_Drive.html instead of a physically hdd and then take some load of your hdd when timeshifting if you could use the ramdrive as timeshift folder??
Sometimes when I record 2 channels and watch a third at the same time my old hdd is complaining and sometimes the recording does not work afterwards.
I figure that if you have a new computer this is not an issue but my old one is not happy about it. It is not possible for me to try out course I dont have that amount of ram but if you had 4GB or even 8 I think this would be fun to try out so that the hdd did not have to work all the time when watching tv, only when recording.
Just an idea dont know if it works.
