Random Playback Function? (1 Viewer)

Am I missing something, or is there no random function in moving pictures??

I have 1500 movies, and sometimes I just want 'something' on and don't want to have to scroll through all those movies to pick something. That can take a half hour depending on what mood I'm in. A button to select a random movie would be wonderful

Is it possible to have a menu option with the F9 key for "Random Movie Playback (Continuous)" (or even to be able to create playlist or several playlists)
So if I select this option, moving pictures will automatically randomise a 'playlist' of sorts, and continue playing one movie after the other, being able to skip movies with the 'next' button

I know I can add my movies directory to a playlist with mediaportal's inbuilt video database, But I use Moving Pictures for my movies, and MP-TVseries for TV shows. I can create playlists of TV series and randomise with TV series, but I can't see how to make a playlist in Moving Pictures or how to have continuous playback, moving to the next movie after a movie ends.

I'd hate to manually add 1500 movies to Mediaportal's default video database with all the movie info, covers etc. Moving pictures is so much better at handling movies, but I do miss this function

Any chance of seeing this in future versions?

:D

I think that feature request was already raised before and should not be too far away from what you like to see in MovingPictures.

Here is the responding thread on the forum:

https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/moving-pictures-284/feature-suggestion-81920/

And there we have this feature presented on the issue tracker:

Issue 567 - moving-pictures - Add "Pick Random Movie" Option - Project Hosting on Google Code

You can star that issue/feature in order to get updates on any changes. To put it in a nutshell: Random playing feature is going to be implemented in MovingPictures some day. :)
