I have downloaded the latest 1.0.4.2 preview, how do I enable/configure the experimental RC102 remote?
How can I use the event "clicked" to react to when I select "My Videos"?
To use the experimental RC102 support, start Input Service Configuration and put a tick in the checkbox next to RC102 and click OK.
Then load Debug Client, click Connect and then try pressing buttons on the remote and see if the debug client lists the remote events. If it does, then it works.
If it doesn't then I'll make some changes and get you to try again. Logs will help in this case.
If it does work then I'd like to get a list of buttons and the code associated with them.
As for detecting a module being entered, I'll take another look at that ... I'm pretty sure I looked into it a while ago and couldn't find a way to detect it in the plugin ... But I'll check again. It would be a very nice thing to have, but it might require some changes to MediaPortal itself. I'll see what I can do.
There's a new test version on the first post (1.0.4.2 Preview 3).
The changes from Preview 2 are as follows:
* Fixed TV2 Blaster Plugin (tested with 50chickens help, let me know if it doesn't work for you)
* Improved Custom HID Receiver
* Added RC102 plugin (sorry about that, I didn't put it in the installer for preview 2)
Now I have tried the preview 3 and RC102, results:
Not detected if the detect button is pressed.
If the tickbox is ticked the logfile says "Failed to start receive plugin: "RC102"".
No respons in the debug client.
The remote has an mouse functionality (RC107) and this one works, but are supported by the installed driver, ie if I stop the input service it works anyway.
The reciever for the RC102 and RC107 seems to be the same typ, IR507.
If it doesn't detect it then there is a difference in the device ID between the RC102 and the RC107, I can get around that, but I'll need the right device ID.
See if you can get it working with the Custom HID Receiver, if you can then send me the Custom HID Receiver.xml file which contains the configuration data and I'll be able to make a separate receiver plugin for it from that information. If you need help then we can organise a time to talk on the IRC #mediaportal channel or MSN...
This is the HID ID that Windows and your input service has as common: HID\VID_147A&PID_E02A&MI_01\7&36AC4665&0&0000.
Actually the ID that the input service reports are a little bit longer.
The ID that Windows reports as remote RC107 is: USB\VID_147A&PID_E02A&MI_01\6&28FFA101&0&0001
The remote reports two HID USB and one HID consumer device in the device manager.
Excellent, that should help me make a plugin for it... I'll post some files here later today (within 12 hours), and hopefully one of them will get it working for you.
Ok, thanks much. I will look into the instructions above. For the moment, I turned off the "Automatic channel logo update" in Settings (which somehow I had missed, I think because it wasn't an option previously), and the deleted everything in the Flat-default folder and populated it with my own logos. Works, so far.

Hi--
I have to revisit an old issue, unfortunately. I just downloaded MP 2.5, a fresh installation, on a new computer (reluctantly...
Ran into this problem following an otherwise sucessful upgrade from MP 1.34 x64 to MP 1.35 x64 the CEC Remote plugin which I use just to control volume and standby, will no longer put my devices (TV & AVR) to sleep when the HTPC is put in standby. Also when I wake up the HTPC MP closes or crashes (not sure which) as per the example in...

I do not know why this xml was in my theme folders, it must have sneaked in some time ago (years?). I simply removed the file. The Latest Media Handler plugin seems to be working as expected. I've had no lock-ups.
