Hi Guys
Thank you so much for allowing me to review RC3 of MP. I've got some comments for you, some you may find to be a little too fussy, some you may be aware of already. But I hope you find them helpful nevertheless!
---->
MP Main program
---------------
alt-Enter for full screen in TV mode makes MP grind almost to a halt for a while, not smooth. I guess you guys know about this.
Previous button - A lot of apps don't have this. Radio does but it does not work. Right mouse button works.
Possible Bug - With HVR1300 TV fullscreen or windowed mode the tv picture is displayed over the menu rendering app impossible to use. Then I rebooted the machine and everything was back to normal. So should installation force a reboot?
Radio - HVR1300. Takes a very long time to play a station. RC2 was much faster, Previous button does not work.
Menu system - On occasion the menu would display the wrong titles, at one instance I had "My Tetrus" for every item in the menu.
MP Settings Wizard 1.0.2268.32737 [5,6,7/11]
--------------------------------------------
Bug - With Hauppague HVR1300 analogue radio card card scanning appeared to halt at 109.2 Mhz (all green leds of progress bars were displayed). However the stop button was still showing five minutes afterwards, and in the end I had to stop it myself, whereupon the application crashed (timer icon was continuously displayed). However it still allowed me to hit cancel and the application aborted, whereupon I had to restart the wizard.
Possible Bug - Disabling baloon tips does not disable baloon tips. Is it supposed to do this on Windows XP in general?
Usability - Suggest City section ddlist needs to be moved up nearer to the country ddlist (I missed it when I first hit the scan button).
Usability - Radio - Analog [6/11] - You may think this odd but it would be nice to hear what I am scanning (other people may think differently of course). Maybe it's worth giving an option for sound here (inc Analogue/dig TV perhaps).
Usability - when using the mediaportal settings wizard it would be good if the country/region was persistent the next time you run it (always defaults to the first in the list). There maybe other controls here I have missed.
Consistency - Does not force me to enter in music/film/picture folders. Setup program does.
Hope you find this useful for next release.
Many thanks
Alex
