I'm using a 16:9 widescreen television with the Project Mayhem skin @ 848x480 60Hz in "widescreen" mode. I'm certain this is not kin related but I'm seriously wondering why the following occurs.
I'll explain step by step what I do....
When mediaportal is not playing a movie or television all text in MP is very hard to read. Text is deformed somehow because of the "widescreen mode". Although I use a 16:9 reolution I can understand why. The resolution is never exactly the lines the TV expects, so the TV compresses the image a bit to make it fit the screen, which results in a slightly deformed image.
The strange thing is.... when I've got a movie or TV stream running the deformation is gone! As soon as I start a movie all text becomes very clear and smooth. Even though nothing has changed in the resolution or aspect ratio of the screen. When I stop the movie or TV stream all text becomes deformed again.
This image displays text with no movie playing
And this one the same text with only one difference, a movie is playing.
How can I make the image always display the way it does when a movie is playing?? It looks much...much! better.
