As with just about everyone who post here, even though they may have a problem or two they are always extremely grateful for both MP itself and the support forums. I also fall well into that category of person!

My small problem is that the reception drops out intermittently. The TV show freezes and the sound stops and it may (or may not) then come up with the no reception message. If I simply move to another channel and then back to the channel all is well again for the time being. I have generally excellent reception and with the cheap old set-top box that I was using it never dropped out at all. I have generally excellent reception, it can have a few minor hiccups (the screen may become a little pixelated for half a second because of the digital reception) if it is raining but otherwise it has always been fine with the old set-top box and is fine with MP until it does this. This problem occurs regardless of the channel that I am on.

At first I thought I was very clever and that it was probably either XPs screen saver or energy saving features kicking in but this does not seem to be the case as they are set to none and always on, respectively.

I have not included many details of my setup as I was not sure what details would be pertinent. Briefly, it is a fairly standard Win XP Pro SP2 dedicated MP PC, new Gigabyte motherboard, Intel Dual Core, 1 GB RAM, DVICO tuner, 7600 GT video card. It runs Avast anti-virus but nothing else that I can see would cause this problem.

Any ideas would be gratefully accepted! Thanks in advance.

I'm using Terratec 2400i DVB-T card - had same problem, until i installed amplifier on coax to antenna... (By the way - those who have this card and are considering buying active antenna - the card is able to supply the 5V current required, there shoud be a jumper on the card between the two tuners that has to be switched over to achieve this... (Got the info from terratec support)...)

Reception may be fine for regular TV - but a lot of the tuners for PC (=MP) are very fussy Re: signal strength... You may want to try amplification/changing antenna(position)...
