I have problems with some channels for my TV card (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/general-support-51/swedish-svt1-svt2-95062/)
and I will try another one. Appreciate some recommendation for TV cards that work 100% with MP.
Have looked at:

Hauppauge Nova S2 HD
TerraTec Cinergy S2 PCI HD CI

which are available in my region. Will they work OK ?

Hi zkab,

Don't know about those cards you're looking at, but I would first install some extra codecs and see if that helps before spending any €€€€... (I know, I don't like spending... ;))

Take a look at the SAF codec pack, I'm using version 4 as the latest SAF5 seems to have some issues for some people.

Just my 2 cents.
Fripsy.

Hello fripsy,

Right now I have following in MP configuration:

TV Codecs:
MPEG2: MPC MPEG2 (Gabest)
H.264: Divx h.264

I 'll try SAF codec and let you know what happens

SAF4 link is broken

OK - but that requires 'Cyberlink Video Decoder' in MP configuration and to get that the unlocked version is needed.
To get that version a PM has to be sent to 'hoborg' ... I have done that but haven't got any answer.

I tried SAF v5.00 but still got the problem (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/general-support-51/swedish-svt1-svt2-95062/)
I am more and more inclined that my TV card is the culprit

I tested the channel with DBVViewer and they worked just FINE
Apparently a bug in Mediaportal :(

    Strange!

is it a multi set-up with clients?
In that case you should try to change rtsp to UNC!

    Hi zkab

The Technotrend tuner that you have is a fantastic tuner. Are your problems with that tuner?

In any case, can you please post your TV Server logs. I can't tell what is going on if you don't post logs...

The problems I had was the Swedish Channels SVT1 & SVT2 (pls check my post).
What I did was to test DVBViewer and believe it or not - it ran like a Swiss clock ... no problems.
As I understand it must be a MP problem ...

Okay, I have understood that. The most likely cause is codec issues, or possibly conditional access problems if the channels are encrypted.

What video compression schemes (h.264 or MPEG 2) and audio tracks (MPEG 2, HE-AAC) are available for those two channels?
How much CPU is being used when you view those channels?

    - DivX is not a good choice for h.264. FFDShow, Cyberlink or CoreAVC are recommended.
    - MPC codecs should only be used as a last resort. Again, FFDShow or Cyberlink codecs are recommended (for XP).

*Please post logs as I requested. You can see how to do that in the link in my signature.*
