I'm currently struggling with a problem where my Live TV viewing very occasionally gives me a very grainy image. I'm using a Hauppauge HVR2200MC which is connected to a set-top box using RCA cables.

The grainy image problem is intermittent and happens completly randomly when I change channels. Sometimes I get a blue flash, after which the image then also turns grainy.

According to previous conversations with a MP TV Server developer, this is a driver issue and can not be fixed by the developers.

This is driving me crazy to the point of buing a new analogue tv card that does not have this problem to replace my otherwise functional Hauppage

Can anybody recommend a reliable PCI-E x1analogue card for me?

    Thanx

What is the problem with a digital card? Don't you have the possibility to use one?
Here in germany analog signal is completely shutdown next month. Analog has no future.

A digital signal gives you a much better picture quality.

Our satelite company is very paranoid about piracy - at least that is their excuse.

They pair their set-top boxes with their smart cards (IRDETO) so there is no way of using their subscription services without their set-top boxes, so I'm limited to blasting the set-top box and using its RCA (Yellow/Red/White) output to capture the TV signal

I wish i could use a DVB-S card, but unfortunately I'm stuck in Africa with only one satelite provider
