I am running MP 1.02 and all was working fine for quite a while. Recently I am having a problem where recorded TV wont play back, if I restart MP it fixes the problem. All will run fine for a while then later in the day the same problem comes back. I have added some plugins since my MP 1.02 installation, some work and a couple don't, I don't know whether that will be causing the problem, but the plugins I installed that don't work, camplayer being one, I don't seem to be able to uninstall. I have run watchdog and saved the log files and am going to try and attach them here. If I have not done this message properly please let me know so I can learn to do it properly.

You can always just delete the camplayer-plugin from your plugin-directory. Could you be more specific than "wont play back"?

ok, your error.log is 71 MB unpacked...I would remove all the plugins and start with a fresh install. Then install the plugins you want, one by one, testing between each one.

Well actually I mucked around with camplayer and now have it working.

Its hard to be more specific because all that happens is that I get a dialogue box that says "unable to play"

Videos also wont play back with the same error message.

The problem only happens after MP has been running for some time and as I said previously, simply restarting Mp solves the problem until it happens again.

That seems to be a very drastic measure. It takes me ages to setup MP. The worst part being of course to rescan all the analogue TV channels and rename them manually. Surely there is a simpler solution?

    Hi,

You say you mucked around with camplayer. Could you be less specific? Sorry! But you need to give a description of what you are doing.

Regarding the huge log files, just delete them.

If you launch MediaPortal from the log collector (can't remember the precise name) then it will clean the old logs first and zip them all up after testing ready for posting. This is explained in the documentation and forum.

    Best wishes,

    Mark

Ok well regarding camplayer, I searched for ages trying to figure out how it is meant to be installed to no avail apart from the simple readme txt that downloaded with it which says to copy several files to various folders: ie

copy myCamPlayer.xml to your skin folder
copy CamPlayer.dll to your Plugins\ExternalPlayers folder
copy PCamPlayer.dll to your Plugins\windows folder

run configuration, and configure CamPlayer in Plugins-ExternalPlayers

Well initially I think I got confused as to which skins folder they meant and it would not work so I have since copied them to my aMPed skin folder and it works.

So I am thinking if it now works then it is not likely to be the culprit causing my recorded Tv not to play back sometimes. It is just that I know that is one change I did make to my system recently.

Of course just to confuse matters I did install the YouTube.Fm plugin which also works although it doesnt seem to download files like it is meant to. So I thought well I will just uninstall that, but when I try to do so it says invalid package. Same error message comes up when I try to reinstall it. I am happy to remove youtube.fm but dont know how to.

Regarding the log files the ones I sent previously were collected on my desktop after running MP debug mode and getting the recorded TV wont play back problem. Am I being specific enough now for you :) ?:D
