Hi there,

what about a feature called 'recording after view'.

For example:
I look a TV show, but I am not recording it.
After a half hour it's pretty interesting, and i decide to record it.

Today it's impossible. That part i already see, would not recorded.

But MP could use the timeshiftbuffer to realise this feature.

Stupid question, was timeshifting enabled to begin with.

Which would give you the ability to use backward record (as long as you have not changed channels which used to clear the timeshift buffer, there was talk about changing this behaviour).

Thats is why, for the cost of a replacement drive, for a possible hard disk failure, i leave timeshifting enabled, it really is a need to have PVR feature, especially for the above post, and i bet despite all the repeats that are shown, that show is left out which is a real bummer.

Well there was "talk" but also a clear statement:

As long as fixable MP "classic" will be able to do 'record by reference' but loose ts buffer on zapping.
TVE3 will not clear the ts buffer.
