Recently i moved one of my cards (HVR) to a differing PCI slot to see if i could resolve an issues with stuttering video, but ever since then i have had problems with trying to record channels.

The channels appear fine in the TV Guide but when i select the record button i get more than one option to record the same program.

If i select to record one of the two nothing records at all, if i select the other one the program sometimes records, but for a seemingly random length (8-10 hours for a 30min show).

I have done a complete uninstall of TV Server (including removing the database) and reinstalled but the problem has persisted. I have not attempted to remove MediaPortal as it take too long to reconfigure and i would rather not if i could get away from it.

Any ideas what is causing this problem.

Thanks

Grant

Are you certain you deleted the SQL database, because this is the main reason for this happening, the old\moved addresses for the TV card are stored there, if you re-import channels it will also restore the old card address afaik, could this be the problem.

I definitely did a complete uninstall.

is the anyway to remove the entries from the database manually, without losing everything?

The only other thing is try running something like CCleaner, there may be registry entries still left for the cards that are non existant.

I did something similar a while ago, and I know between XP and Vista there was a huge difference if you uninstalled any hardware, XP remembered it and Vista did not (it ask's you if you want to remove all related files when uninstalling).
