Recording from external device (1 Viewer)

I am in the process of setting up MP on a dedicated PC that currently has a Compro T750F digital/analog tuner card installed. I need to record from an external satellite box. The tuner card has a composite and s-video and audio input but I can't seem to configure MP to give me access to these inputs. I also have a USB to video/audio device that I would like to use. Does MP support the use of external USB input devices?

Well, I have no answer but am disturbed by the same problem - in different form.

My TV Tuner card has Coax Antenna input as well as Composite Video + Analog Audio in. I can connect external devices like an old VCR to the Composite input. As soon as I connect a jack into the audio in socket, the card starts to assume that it should record audio from there. This means all tuned TV channels will also get audio from the external audio input instead of the TV Tuner's own built-in audio decoder.

Is there a way to specify (either for each channel, or for each input possibility) which Audio input to use?
