    Hi,

I am running fresh installs of 0.2.2 + svn 01-20-2007--01-01-Rev12679 for both the main program and the server.

Log files are attached below. I deleted the standard template for hardware information as I was under the impression that this is all provided by the mediaportal test tool (would someone please let me know if this is not the case?).

Starting media portal and going into the tv module works fine. My client system is able to connect to the server and stream tv.

To reproduce the problem, try the following.

Start mediaportal. Enter TV and switch on the TV if it doesn't start automatically.

Hit the record now button or schedule a recording. In the present case, I started a recording manually and let it record for a couple of minutes. I have also tried with a scheduled recording.

Now try to play back the recording in mediaportal. Nothing happens.

When I check the size of the recording file, it is 0 bytes.

TSWriter.log from the server seems to have some error messages. It is attached below. I have pruned the file slightly to remove any log info from before today, but it still has the errors (?) from a scheduled recording and a manual recording.

As usual, let me know if I haven't provided enough information.

    Best wishes,

    Mark

It looks like not all the hardware information is provided by mediaportal test tool, so here it is.

The following is for the client.

    MediaPortal Version: 0.2.2 + 01-20-2007--01-01-Rev12679
    MediaPortal Skin: bluetwo
    Windows Version: XP Pro SP2
CPU Type: Athlon XP 4200 dual core
    HDD: Seagate HDS722516VLAT20
    Memory: 1 GB DDR2 1 stick I think
    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-M51GM-S2G
    Motherboard Chipset: GeForce6100
    Motherboard Bios: unsure (never updated)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce 7600 GS
Video Card Driver: ForceWare drivers 83.91
    Sound Card: onboard
    Sound Card AC3:
Sound Card Driver: realtek high definition audio driver 2.11
    1. TV Card: Hauppauge WinTV 1100 (in server)
    1. TV Card Type: hybrid (analogue disabled)
    1. TV Card Driver:
MPEG2 Video Codec: DScaler MPEG2 video codec (MVP does same)
MPEG2 Audio Codec: DScaler audio decoder
    Satelite/CableTV Provider: none
    HTPC Case: Coolermaster
    Cooling: standard AMD
    Power Supply: Levicom 450W
    Remote: Hauppauge
    TV: 20" Belinea LCD 1680 x 1050
    TV - HTPC Connection: VGA

Server is a similar setup (also gigabyte motherboard, but with GeForce 6600 PCI-express graphics). The TV card is in the server. Client connects to server over wired network (100-base-T).

Please let me know if you need more detail.

    Best wishes,

    Mark

    Same buffer here

I reported something similar a couple of weeks ago here, https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/showthread.php?t=14514.

At the time I was having problems with the technotrend dvb-t and assumed this card the source of my problems. However, I still have this happening.

I have 3 dvb-t cards in my server now, I can record reliably using 2 of the 3 cards, when I had 2 cards, I could only reliably record from 1, the first.

    Hi John,

I missed your initial post. Sorry.

Anyway, the key difference (I guess) with my system is that the server only has one card enabled - the DVB-T side of the Hauppauge HVR-1100.

The client computer does have a TV card, but the TV server isn't installed on it, so it isn't enabled.

Obviously the cards have been removed in MediaPortal Setup, so the new TV engine is the only way a signal is going to get through.

    Best wishes,
