Hi,
Using hauppauge 150 mce and mediaportal 0.2, i want to record my old vhs tapes into the pc. The sound input is not working, sadly. So seeking help here. Here is what i do:
I connect the video by a svhs cable and audio cable to the left and right input on the 150 mce card. I have setup a channel called "composite" with channel number: 250001,
tv standard: Pal B,
type: "received by external settop box,
input via: CVBS#1

The setup makes the video stream show perfectly in mediaportal. But then theres no sound. Anyone has an idea about how to set it up?

Have you checked your audio control panel?

Alot of the inputs/outputs are muted by default. In fact they are not even shown by default.

To see them open the control panel>
Sounds and Multimedia>
Click on the Advanced button>
Options>
Properties>
Recording

Check the boxes on all choices that you may need. The method of finding the audio control panel may be different, depending on your audio card.

I hope this helps.

You could try to change the Audio Codec to NV as well, if you have installed 'pure video'.

I havn´t got any sound for analog channels with MP (pinnacle 310e), till i switched to NV-PureVideo.

Not sure about the hauppauge card, but I know with mine I also need to connect the audio out on the TV card to the audio in on my sound card to record sound. You might want to give that a go, or perhaps hook up the VHS audio straight to your sound card audio input.

it works here, I did the same as you did ...

There is this audio mapping thing in the tv-cards setup but I don't know what it is good for and I didn''t change s.th. there

So, no help from me but at least the info that it should work.

thanks+regards
