Recordings being Deleted, can't stop it (1 Viewer)

MediaPortal Version: 0.2.2.0

Hi all,

I searched for this on the forums, but did not come across a solution. When I have a scheduled recording, after watching the full recording, MP decides to delete the file.

I did go into the config and unchecked "delete recording after viewing", but it still does it. I also played around with add recording to movie DB, which it does, but it is also deleted from there.

Any suggestions? Any way to open up the config file physically to see what it's set to do?

you can open XML files in Notepad if you want to poke around.
Sounds like you already found the correct setting, but the change didn't take effect. TRy enabling that option, restarting and then disabling it.

Also, is it happening for just a few programs or all of them? (you can set this flag individually as well)

it's happening in all of the ones that I completely watch. I will check the xml files when I get home to see if I can find the specific switch.

I will post them when I get home tonight. Did a clean install of MP 0.2.2, so will check to see if it's still doing it.

You didn't answer this part. In the gui for recorded settings, there is an option for "Feep Until". One of these options is "until watched".
Sounds to me like this flag was set by default when you scheduled the recordings. Now you have turned the option off all new recordings are ok but existing recordings still have it.

He he, my install is fine now. When I upgraded to 0.2.2.0 I forgot to check the recording destination which had defaulted to the C:\...\MyRecordings location. This partition is quite small on my machine and it looks like MP was deleting previous recordings to make room for new ones.

didn't actually get to the bottom of this. Reinstalled XP finally, cause all the problems were causing me too many headaches. If the problem comes up again, I will post.

However, I would recommend that others with the problem please post their log..

OK, this problem started again (even after fresh Win XP install and MediaPortal Install).

When I go to a recorded show and click "info" and look at the "keep until" option, it shows "keep until watched".

This is being set like that as a default when installing MP 0.2.2 -> I think that's a glitch

I can see how to fix this per recording, but I cannot find where to change this for all present/future recordings..
