Recordings are being made OK, but for some reason nothing shows up in the Recorded TV screen. I first noticed this using my chosen skin Purevision HD v2.2 but I've now tested with the non-HD Purevision and Blue3 and Blue3wide and it's the same in all of them.

Everything else in MP seems to be working fine. I just installed For The Record, but the problem was present already, so it's nothing to do with that. Can't think of anything else to add that might help but please let me know if you need me to do anything to help track down the cause of this problem.

Yes thanks, I installed those straight after installing FTR.

Well I uninstalled FTR and recordings are being shown now. As I said, the problem was present before I installed FTR but I also upgraded with the latest MP SVN after I installed FTR and I'm using the PureVision HDX skin now as well but I've tested and it's working in Purevision HD v2.2 as well, so I don't know what fixed it but something has!

hmm, I've come up against the same problem again.

I haven't re-installed FTR but I have upgraded to SVN 21813. It seems to only show recordings made with this SVN.
It might be a bug with this SVN, but I wanted to check that there isn't another explanation before reporting it as such.

For my old recordings, Mediaportal.log shows:

and so on. It also shows entries for files that I've deleted from the recording folder, so I don't know why it's trying to build items for those, or even where it's getting those filenames from!

However, it does create thumbs for most of my recordings (including most of those for which the log shows "Error building item") in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Thumbs\TV\Recorded

For some though, it has a problem even doing that, and again is trying to do so for recordings which I've deleted

I saw another thread https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...-support-53/my-tv-recorded-tv-database-54708/ where someone got their Recordings to show up by switching to blue3wide skin, but I've tried that and it didn't work and the same errors show up in the log. Nothing's showing up in the "Recorded files which are currently not present in your database:" box in TV Server config.

    - Open SQL Server Management Studio
    - Open a new query on your MpTvDb
    - Execute this command "delete from recording"
    - Open SetupTv.exe
    - Reimport your recordings
    - For greyed items: wait for some feature I still have to implement or edit the xml file so it contains a channel which is present in your DB.

    :D rtv.
I didn't have SQL Server Management Studio but I downloaded the Express version and it's done the job. Imported everthing that was in my recordings folder and no greyed items left over.

Did I do something stupid that caused this problem or is there something I should be aware of to try and avoid it happening in future?

I am not sure about that. Somehow your recording DB had references to non existing channels. This could be:
    - deleting a channel after you already had recorded from it (although that case should have been handled)
    - an external plugin (4TR, some webinterface, etc) directly manipulating the DB / recordings / channels
    - an issue related to changes that allow "channel merging" for those stupid broadcasters in the USA.

Just bump this thread if it happens again, please.

    Will do, thanks.

In this case, I suspect it was something to do with 4TR as I had been messing about with that.

If it's not stupidly complicated to do, is it worth considering integrating the "delete from recording" command in MP config to make it a bit easier to use when necessary, or does this problem occur too rarely to justify that?

Had the same issue too...same error messages. rtv's solution is correct. SQL management studio did the trick. The relation channels, which i cleared and recordings gives a mismatch i think. Would be nice if you could delete the recordings table from inside mediaportal. Is that possible rtv? I got all the errors at the moment i first installed mediaportal and imported all the channels. For a less experienced mp user this could be someting to turn away from mediaportal.

Hi, I've got the same problem, but using the solution that RTV gave isn't working for me.
    I'm runnning MP 1.0.2.0.

Ive tried moving the recordings to a different folder, and updating the database in mediaportal, then moving them back, and updating the database as well.

    Still no joy.

    Any other ideas?
