Recordings over EPG longer then only 14 days! (1 Viewer)

hello,

i've heard, that mp can only record 14 days, when the recordings are programed over epg!
is their a chance to get more days (21 or 28!)? is better for longer holidays!!!

IMHO there is no such a limitation.

Or the limitation is due to the fact that you haven't made a task to autoupdate the EPG. (computer waking up in the night, downloading new EPG and then shutting down again). In this way your "Always Record on this channel" etc, scheduled recordings will still work.

At least that's what I hope

I think you're missing the point of the original post.

If I'm understanding correctly, aggi wants to be able to download 3 or 4 weeks worth of EPG data so that if he's going on holidays for 2 weeks, he can schedule recordings past that before he leaves.

Unfortunately Zap2It and most sites which provide EPG data, only do it for 2 weeks in advance (which I think is more then enough).

If you're going on holidays for a couple weeks, setup MP with the MPW (MediaPortal Webinterface) plugin so you can access your machine over the Internet while you're away.

I understood what he means. But what I want to tell is that's not an MP limitation, that's the EPG source which offers not enough information.

BTW even in the newspaper you can't have such informations ! I think even some TV channels don't know what they will broadcast 1 month before...

Of course the MP WebInterface is the way to go and thanks for pointing this out.

ok, i try to explain it easier:
with tvxb i can get epg information until 13.04.2006 (last tvxb update 20.03.2006!). now i go to my favorite series and push ok to programming my recordings. but i have only the choice to record until 03.04.2006!!! series after this date wasn't shown!
is their a chance to get an extended selection

If you have the source you should be able to record ?

Aggi are you sure the tvguide.xml does really contains all the informations for the channel you want ? Cause that's not because you can set 3 weeks in tvxb that it will grab the 3 weeks for all the channels. It depends on the website it grabs on.

my tvxb grabs from www.tvmovie.de. tvmovie has information for 21 days!!! the tvguide.xml show me my series for the next 3 weeks! but no selection for recordings after 2 weeks!
