Red/Blue Spots (1 Viewer)

Since I didn't see anything in my search results, this is probably something obvious I'm missing.

Many of the files I play have red and blue spots - I don't know if this is something I can remove with a processor or where it comes from (unless just part of the source).

Is there a way to clear these up?

Thanks,

Marc

Hi, what is your system specs? Especially graphics card? If you give the details, I am sure one of our competant moderators will be able to tell you if that might be the problem.
MP requires a DX9 graphics card.

MP requires a DX9 graphics card.

I don't think it's hardware, but here you go:

    AMD 4000 X2 dual Core
    ATI X1950GT AGP 256Mb
    1GB PC6400 RAM

output to 23" LCD via DVI. Resolution 1336x768 (something like that).

I tried a source on 2 computers, to be sure it wasn't in the source (was not the source). Played via VLC on other PCs (and via remote desktop to MP comptuer) shows no red/blue. Played via VLC on the MP output to LC DOES show blue/red.

    Thanks,
    Marc

Its either codec or graphics card driver, does changing renderer to EVR make a difference, is FFDShow Tryout involved, make sure you have latest version.

Reinstall graphics card driver, follow ATI's guide for doing this, if none of above helps (do not think its this though).

More info about file type\codecs would help us.

as Paranoid Delusion allready said, that sounds like you simply do not have the "correct" codec installed.
i have seen that multiple times with FFDshow, which is the reason why i no-longer use it, but the native codecs (divx, xvid, coreavc, quicktimealternative) instead.

Thanks a bunch everyone. Removed ffdshow and problem went away (along with things running noticably faster). I plan to reinstall this machine in a few days to a new hdd, so will pick and choose native codecs from now on..

    Thanks again!
