Hello all,

I've been using Mp version 1 for about 9 months but only just joined the forum. I have a DVB-S tuner and use it to receive Freesat channels. I was wondering if there is a way to receive red button content? Not BBC iPlayer, but rather the alternative content that the BBC pipe out. I am guessing they are just additional channels that need to be tuned and mapped. Can anyone kindly offer any hints and tips?

Regards, JIm

Channels 301 and 302 are the red button channels. Just rename them. I haven't got them set up at the moment, but I am pretty sure that the DVB-S EPG will give you the now and next programme info (it did when I had it set up before in any case).

I think you might be confusing DVB-S and DVB-T.

    The satellite streams are on TP "12441 V" (FlySat Eurobird 1 - Astra 2A/2B/2D @ 28.5/28.2° East)

There are 7 channels there. Often only content on a handful of them, but with the recent Wimbeldon, World Cup, Glastonbury, etc, they've been pretty much chock-full.

    Ahh,

Sorry, I suspect I may have given the right answer to the wrong question! :)

    Do you mean DVB-S?

I was under the impression there was no EPG data for the BBC-i streams ???

If it is DVB-S how are you getting EPG? (do you still need to grab EPG via something like Brit Shorts or Sky EPG Background music channel ?)

    Jay,

I have DVB-S and T and think I have got mixed up. It must have been DVB-T that I had setup. But I did get red button EPG data from 301 and 302 for now and next automatically.

There is a "BBC Sport Interactive (red button)" channel listing available through XMLTV from the UK_RT source.

I don't know how comprehensive it is though, seeing as it's just one channel listed, but 7 (sat) or 2 (terrestrial) streams.

This used to be just sport (basically what is shown BBC Sport - TV and Radio - BBC Red Button schedule) but having had a look at the data (http://xmltv.radiotimes.com/xmltv/2040.dat) I am not sure now as this seems have things like CBBC Extra listed

Matching data between the BBC listing page and the xmltv data looks like this is Freeview only.

I can't be sure but I am fairly sure this basically relates the 301 on Freeview
