Reinstalling just the TV server or is there another solution? (1 Viewer)

Hi

Is it possible to just reinstall the TV server or do you think I should reinstall Portal completely to solve the below problem or is there another solution?

I tried the instructions about how to configure hybrid TV cards at https://www.team-mediaportal.com/manual/TV-Server/Configuration/TVServers/HybridCards .

However, the tuners did not go into different groups like at the above link. Instead a line crossed out the DVB-T tuners and the enabled tick beside them disappeared. Now I cannot get back into “TV server configuration” and I cannot get into Portal to view TV channels any more. When I clicked on “TV server configuration” a message came up saying "The TV service is not running. Start it now." I selected “Yes”. After a long time a message came up saying: "Failed to startup tvserviceSystem.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it"

Do you suggest that I completely uninstall Media Portal and reinstall it again? If I do this would I have to install the dvbfix patch again and run the Bat file to enable it to work on Win XP?

It would be good if there was video instructions perhaps on Youtube showing how someone sets up the card like explained at https://www.team-mediaportal.com/manual/TV-Server/Configuration/TVServers/HybridCards .
If anyone knows of any, or could create a video, please let me know. Alternatively, a detailed step by step guide could be all right.

I am trying to get the HVR-2200 duel tuner card to work on two different channels as explained in my earlier post at https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...-tuner-card-only-recording-one-station-66124/ . I also asked a similar question to the above in that post. However, it became off the topic so I thought people may not see my latest question that I need a reply to ASAP.

Your help is appreciated.
Regards Richard.

Hi

Do you know anyone that could help with the above fairly urgently because I cannot use Portal at all until it is fixed?

I am not sure whether to completely reinstall Portal or if I could just reinstall the TV server? If I have to reinstall, I do not know if I would also need to reinstall the dvbfix patch again and run the Bat file to enable Portal to work on Win XP. Or is there is another solution?

Your help would be appreciated.
Regards Richard

Unless you have spent a lot of time configuring MP then I would suggest a complete re-install.

It would make sense to me to take everything back to a clean baseline. I don't think you would need to apply the dvbfi, as this is not within MP but a Windows fix.

Sorry can't help with the hybrid cards specifically as have no experience.

I had this too - reinstalled and it's running ok now.
And I WOULD apply the dvb fix just in case :)

I cannot group the tv channels into groups, nor use the manual EPG update - 'cos all I get at the top of the control is the title(s), the controls themselves don't show up :(
AFAIK it's a known bug that resinstalling fixes - BUT I have a mental amount of stuff to reconfigure if I do it... :(
A separate TVServer re-install would fix it methinks but I don't thinks it's possible at the mo...

images attached show the sections but not the controls within them :(

Anyone know where to post bugs about the current build - I'll report there when I know :)
(or can a moderator copy this post where it should be?)
