I'm not going to get too wordy, but this is an evolving project I've been working on for the past 2 weeks. Here's how it started.
With this case:
# Dimensions: 10.24"(D) x 5.31"(W) x 11.75"(H)
The Hardware
+ Pentium 4 2.4c
+ Commell LV-670LVDS (onboard TV-Out)
+ 512mb PC2700 DDR RAM
+ 40gb main Hard drive
+ 250gb secondary drive (for just video)
+ Zonet 802.11g USB2
+ Hauppauge Win-TV PVR-150-MCE l.p.
+ X10 MP3/DVD RF remote w/ MR26A receiver
I went through several different cooling experiments with this project so keep an eye on how that develops. The end-plan is to have an extremely quiet machine that can record, playback, and serve video over my home network so that I can archive certain shows and compress them for playback on PDAs.
First fan selected for CPU cooling (Evercool PCAC cross-flow fan)
Rear mesh I/O cover
Front intake
MR26A RF remote receiver integrated into front bezel
Lighting added
Power LED "eye"
Adding Signal LED indicator porthole to RF mouse
Side panel emblem
Cross-flow fan replaced with 120mm fan on custom clear plastic mount
