remote button mapping (1 Viewer)

hello. For the hauppauge remote, I was wondering if there is any way to map a button on the remote to run a certain application. I saw there was a plug-in to add new items to the menu, but no way to map those menu items to buttons. Is this in the works? Been suggested before and struck down? Or is the function there and I just missed it. MP 0.2.2
