Can someone please explain, how the remote control is supposed to work.?
Suppose I have a TV card installed on the server. How the clients are supposed to switch channels. What must be installed on the server, and what on the client?

MediaPortal controls the Remote side of things.

So as long as you have a supported remote, then no problem.

Some issues with the hauppauge remote, do a search on these for answers.

I had no problems with my Hauppauge remote with the old MP concept.

The thing with the new Client\Server concept is that the TV card is on the server side, and if a client is placed in another room, not necessarily in eye contact with the server and the remote control receiver, how is the remote control supposed to communicate with the system?

To put it simply (as I understand it), you would use the remote on the "client" machine, which would then pass the tuning message on to the server and request the channel change.

Actually, since I have just one USB TV card as mentioned, the question of how to use it from another room, without eye contact was hypothetic.
I just wasn’t sure of the concept and I thank you for your answers.
From my practical point of view, since my T.V. card's remote receiver is part of my external USB2 tuner, is there a practical way of making it work from my server, which is in my case in the same room with the client.
