hi,
my lcd tv's (specs) remote conflicts with the hauppage remote (both x10 i guess)
when i press "start learning" in mp config (hauppage remote)
i get the following codes hauppage remote: 2012 as an example (go to radio screen)
and 12 when i press the medion remote of the lcd (power)

so when i press "power" on the tv-remote - tv turns off, but mp also goes to radio screen (this happens with almost every button just with different actions)
the other way round nothing happens!
is there a possibility to let mp differ from xx and 20xx?

have you looked at MCE replacement plugin ?

you can ignore / reassign ir codes for MP and let the tv use the original code.

it will work with any remote of any brand. even your tv / vcr / radio remtoes as long as they transmit ir codes.

    I get exactly the same problem with my Hauppauge remote and my Samsung TV. The TV remote interferes with the Hauppauge card (and therefore MediaPortal) but not the other way round. One thing that helped a bit was editing the XML file that holds the Hauppauge remote definitions (can't remember what it's called at the moment, sorry) and deleting all the remotes apart from the one I actually have (there are about three Hauppauge remotes in the file). That stopped quite a lot of the problems, but a few annoying ones remain (volume on the TV remote pauses MP).

    I'll be keeping an eye on this thread in case anyone knows a better solution! All I can think of at the moment is to buy another stand-alone remote for the PC (or get another telly, but that would be silly... but it didn't happen with the Sony I had before).

    thx, i'll try it when i've some time to edit. another funny thing is that the remote of my new tv (brand: Medion) has the same codes as the old one (brand: teletech ~ 10 years old). to my mind this is one of the two annoying things about MP at the moment (the other one is that MP freezes while viewing animated cover sliding-effects like in xFace or so).

    That XML file I mentioned yesterday is C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\InputDeviceMappings\defaults\Hauppauge HCW.xml (assuming your mp is in the default directory).
    There are various remotes in there and you can delete the ones you don't need. The remote definitions look like this
    Code:
    <remote family="Hauppauge 45 button">
    ...
    ...
    </remote>
    Mine is the 45-button remote, so I deleted the others for 21-button etc.
    Solved a few of the problems for me.

    today i had some time to do it and it works perfectly (till now)! thx very much!
    i've also the 45 button remote - this was really annoying!
    but i still think that this is a bug, because mp seems to include the 21 and 34 button codes.
